Oh boy, can I relate to this post! I put deadlines out of my mind until they are either impossible to meet or crazy close. I never did get around to working on the design I had in mind for Bead Dreams. I wasn't going to submit anything, but I sent in a couple of images yesterday.

It's definitely something I'm going to do more of. I don't have the piece in front of me but I think it was about 3/4"X2"... Somewhere in that range anyway. I'll try to remember to bring it to the next guild meeting. I made a silicone mold of the cuttlebone texture for using with polymer clay too.

How fun! Thanks for sharing the process pictures. I've never done any glass fusing, but it intrigues me. I love the black textured piece! I've heard of cuttlebone being used for metal casting, but not glass. It's a great effect. How big is the black piece?

This is my first visit to your blog and photo galleries... nice work! I especially like your fire vessel... and your glass-blob clay magnets are a clever twist on the familiar. I wanted to chime in that Crafty Goat is another excellent source of info and tips... and I do some projects and product reviews on my blog, www.CraftTestDummies.com. Keep up the good claying! -Jenny

Hi Christie,
I just subscribed to your blog. I didn't even know you wrote one till today while I was poking around...
I totally agree about your take on artists. Artisits aren't 'born', they simply grow into artists if they're given some encouragement and good basic guidelines.

You will have to make it yourself, unfortunately. There is a second video which describes building the cutting table, which Don has given someone permission to reproduce. If you join the KBKB (Kaleidoscope Builders Knowledge Base) you can search on the posts there or ask about it. The videos are available from one of the members for a small fee. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/kbkb

You can see my version on my studio page: http://www.skygrazer.com/images/kscopetable.jpg

I'm interested in cutting my own mirrors and wish to know more about Don Doak's cutting tool. I do have the video from delfi glass. Is it possible to buy the tool from Don or will have to make it? Thank you, Charlotte

It is really quite lovely to look at and I always seem to return to your website time and time again!:)
