Remodeling

Wednesday, September 26th, 2007

We’re in the slow and gradual, ever changing process of trying to fix up our house. The latest project was our back room. This was the room that was the dumping ground for everything when we first moved into the house (six years or so ago?) and it hadn’t changed much.

In the last month, the nasty worn gray carpet has been replaced with light colored pergo-type flooring, the walls have been painted a soft orange, and the bookcases have been reorganized. We moved in two comfy chairs and a coffee table from the living room and put up a great abstract horse print which just tied the room together… And it looks awesome! It has become a cozy library/den instead of a disaster.

Now I have to figure out how to do that with my workroom!

Bead Bazaar Recap

Monday, September 24th, 2007

Last weekend was the Bead Bazaar for our polymer clay guild and it seemed to go really well. The guild always takes two tables and we had beads from about 15 different members. There was a large variety of styles and some really gorgeous beads.

I was working on Saturday morning – it was quite rainy but that actually seemed to work in our favor. No one was doing outside activities and it was a perfect day for shopping. I also had my largest single sale so far – they bought six dragon’s eyes and a couple other pieces of mine.

Of course, then I got to go shopping myself :) I bought strands of stone beads and pearls, and some great dichroic cabs that I want to sculpt something around.
