Oragami Cranes without the Paper

Sorry I haven’t posted in awhile… I’ve had health issues, we did some house renovations, etc. But it’s time to get back to clay :)

Check out this article about Judy Dunn and her wonderful oragami cranes. The twist - they’re not paper, they’re polymer clay.

Origami is the ancient Japanese art of folding a sheet of paper into various forms. Polymer clay artist Judy Dunn of Acton, Massachusetts has put a new twist into this ancient art form. On October 23, 2006 she folded her one thousandth crane, but not from paper. This crane was the 1000th crane Dunn had folded from polymer clay.

I actually got to see her demo on making these at a retreat. It was a wonderfully delicate process as she carefully folded a sheet of clay making sure that it only got pinched where she wanted to.
