30 Days #30!! Great White Egret

The final piece for the challenge!

I had another white surface for a miniature prepped and what’s more fitting than a great white egret?

I really wanted to capture the sinuous neck with light and shadow in the white clay.

When I was first married we rented a place down on the RI shore and they were one of my favorite things to see every year. They’re so elegant as they stalk through the water hunting or fly over the waves.

It’s 2.5×3″ within the frame. The eye is a yellow glass seed bead with a tiny dot of dark brown paint added in the center for a pupil.
