Sculpt a Dragon – April 8th

Sculpt a Dragon
Saturday, April 8, 10 AM – 3 PM

Wickford Art Association

This is my favorite class to teach, and everyone who takes it seems to have a great time. It’s a lot of fun and we’ll cover a variety of polymer clay techniques as we sculpt a dragon in relief. I will demo different scale patterns, body, and wing designs, along with a few shortcuts I’ve learned along the way.

I’ll provide reference images for Dragon’s Keep (the one above), but you’re welcome to make whatever you like. We’ll be working in black clay and I’ll show you how to create a gorgeous iridescent effect for the dragon scales, plus some texturing and dry brushing techniques to create realistic looking stone. dragon2

This is a great starting point for anyone who wants to try sculpting or polymer clay. No experience needed, and techniques will apply to any sculpting or polymer clay project you do, not just dragons.

For anyone who’s already into polymer clay and has most of their supplies and tools already, let me know ahead of time. I can send you the materials list so you can waive the $25 materials fee.
